THERE ARE THREE ESSENTIALS IN LIFE……FOOD,
SHELTER, AND A GOOD PAIR OF BOOTS.
We think you're going to have a hard time coming up with
food and shelter without a good pair of boots.
LaCrosse stands for the highest quality rugged footwear
you can find, built so people who work and play outdoors can do it without
worrying about their feet. It's a reputation we're proud of because
we earned it the hard way, by holding ourselves accountable for the
performance of each and every boot we make.
After 100 years we're still protecting feet in adverse
conditions - building tough, hard-working boots for people who need
to get out earlier, go deeper and stay longer than the rest. Because
if you can't stay out all day, you might as well stay inside.
Company History
LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. has been providing performance
footwear and apparel to keep people warm, dry, and comfortable since
1897. They began manufacturing rubber horseshoes in La Crosse, Wisconsin
on a patch of land called Indian Hill - reputedly owned by "Buffalo
Bill" Cody. The horseshoes soon gave way to rubber-coated fabrics
and raincoats, which the company manufactured until 1906, when it switched
to rubber footwear.
Today, LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. designs, manufactures,
and markets premium quality rubber, leather and vinyl footwear for sporting,
recreational and occupational markets. Generations of people have trusted
the LaCrosse name to be synonymous with superior craftsmanship, the
finest materials, and proven innovations.
